The police officer, who has been serving for Buffalo Bills organization in New York for almost 30 years, said he is no longer willing to watch players showing disrespect toward the flag without feeling any guilt.
A photo of Erich Nikischer emerged on his Facebook page standing in the Buffalo Bills stadium on Sunday together with a bold caption blasting entitled millionaires who keep disregarding our nation and its flag.
Nikischer said that he is no longer willing to serve an organization that permit athletes to earn millions while showing no respect at all to those who lost their lives defending our flag and freedoms.
“After almost 30 years of working for the Buffalo bills thru the good seasons and a lot of bad ones,” Nikischer began, “I was finely pushed to my limit today and had to quit. I cannot work in a place where multi-millionaires cry that they are oppressed.”
Nikischer said he will miss his co-workers, but made it clear he won’t sit idle any longer while athletes display their anti-American antics for media attention.
“The picture is of me walking out after the disgraceful display on the field,” Nikischer said.
Nikischer’s post emerged just two days after President Donald Trump criticized NFL football players on Friday during a campaign-style rally in Alabama.
Trump took dead aim at players who took a knee during the national anthem, saying that NFL owners should consider firing them for disrespecting our nation’s symbol of freedom.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b***h off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’” Trump said.
“You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it,” Trump continued. “They’ll be the most popular person in this country. Because that’s a total disrespect of our heritage, a total disrespect of everything we stand for.”
Dozens of players kneeled on Sunday during the national anthem in response to Trump, but real heroes like Nikischer are aware that one no longer tolerates this kind of behavior.
This brave officer left the job after 30 years, which further proves the NFL seems more concerned of appeasing millionaire athletes than ensuring our real heroes in uniform received the respect they deserve.
Heroes like Nikischer should be praised for their service, not self-serving athletes seeking attention!
